COLD AiR INFLATABLE ?
Cold Air Inflatable's (C.A.I.) are like hot air balloons except they are filled with regular temperature air by an electric blower and are tied to the ground. Projections can be on both sides at the same time or from inside (rear type projection) out. Our custom inflatable is 40' x 40' x 15' and takes 1/2 hour to stake out and 1/2 hour to fill up. There are two 8' zippers on each side so you can get inside to put laser projectors, strobes, par cans, sound, funny shadow hand puppets or anything you want. The zippers also come in handy when deflating. Our cold air inflatable has been set up in 25 mph winds (see photos). It's kind of rough at the start but the screen handles it best when fully inflated. Some screens have ribbing on the inside to make them flat and not bulge. Not ours, It bulges about 5 to 7 feet in the front and back. This helps the wind go around it and improves stability. If you want to experiment to prove this feature get a mayonnaise jar and a birthday candle, put the light candle an inch behind the jar and blow gently on the front side of the jar. The air will move around the sides of the jar and blow the candle out. The wind over the curved surface of the C.A.I. works kind of like an airplane wing and helps hold it up in higher winds. This action works better if the wind is not coming straight from the front. The laser images projected at 30' to 40 ' square are geometrically corrected for the curve so they still look proportionally flat. Cool huh! Check out the pictures
